You can go skiing or sledging near our cottage. Near the cottage you can use maintained cross-country skiing trails and tracks in length about 15km, which join the tracks to Špindlerův Mlýn and Mísečky.

For down hill skiing lovers are prepared local alight, artificially snow-covered and perfectly maintained downhill runs in complete length of 2, 6 km in the nearest area.

The location of our cottage is ideal for hiking and riding a bike. There are 108 km of cycle tracks and 280km of hiking trails.



The nearest horse riding centre is 4.5 km away and other activities in Giant Mountains are available in a range of 25 km.



Endangered Giant Mountains´ nature

Giant Mountains are the highest mountains in the Czech Republic. Its highest mountain is Sněžka. Its elevation is 1602m above sea level. Giant Mountains´ national park (KRNAP) is a biosphere reserve of UNESCO.

Giant Mountains have become a part of national fairy-tales, mostly because of the character of Krakonoš. He is the master of these mountains; he protects and looks after them.

Giant Mountains are visited by tourists and mostly skiers in a large extent. You can find there a lot of tourist trails, cross-country skiing trails and downhill runs. In summer you can admire unique, interesting but endangered nature.

Giant Mountains are special for its various flora and fauna. Its location and alpine nature are really honoured in Europe. The most valuable ecosystems are the arcto-alpine tundra with peat bogs and alpine forest belts. In a few hours you can go through mixed forest, spruce forest, krummholz stands and alpine tundra with peat bogs to the tip of the hills which are covered by a scanty, but prominent vegetation of herbs, bryophytes, and lichens.
